Man of Steel Fundraising Event for Jeffrey Baldwin Statue
The Jeffrey Baldwin story is widely considered to be the most notorious case of child abuse in Toronto history.
When Jeffrey was a toddler, before he was taken from his parents, he was very energetic and loved Superman, jumping off chairs trying to fly. Our mission is to raise funds in order to erect a life size bronze memorial statue in the image of Jeffrey wearing his Superman costume.
This memorial will become a centerpiece tribute within Greenwood Park, Toronto. It will be a symbol to everyone about how important it is to be diligent about reporting suspected instances of child abuse to prevent another needless death such as Jeffrey’s.
Please join us for the Man of Steel Gala and Silent Auction benefiting the memorial initiative in honour of Jeffrey Baldwin on Saturday March 1, 2014 -7:00 pm at Stirling Room.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will be donated to this initiative.

The 2nd Annual Toronto Greek Film Retrospective: Year Two Days of Heaven And Hades will be held at the Music Hall on the Danforth from July 12th to 15th. It is a series of free screenings to celebrate Greek cinema via an electric mix of films from the past 50 years.
The success of the Festival at the Royal Cinema last year has meant the Festival has moved to The Music Hall on the Danforth, a theatre three times the capacity and situated in the heart of GreekTown. The Music Hall was one of the prominent cinemas that played Greek movies from the late 1960s to the 1980s.
The Festival will be a celebration of Hellenic culture, history and passion on screen. It will make a significant contribution to Toronto’s diverse and dynamic cultural programming. The Festival will feature the Canadian Premiere of Fred and Vinnie starring Angelo Tsarouchas, a hometown boy of the Danforth.
