Ravine Strategy Pop-Up Consultation Event

The City of Toronto is developing a Ravine Strategy to guide the future use, management, enhancement and protection of Toronto’s ravines.

There will be a Ravine Strategy pop-up consultation event  Saturday, July 23rd 8:30am to 12:30pm at the Brick Works during Evergreen’s Weekend Farmers Market (550 Bayview Ave). It will be set up in Tiffany Commons located directly east of the farmers market.

An information meeting and Open House is being held to solicit input from the public on how they use ravines and the vision for their future. Everyone is welcome to attend.

What is a pop-up consultation?

These pop-up events are a style of consultation that we are trying instead of the traditional open house in hopes to reach more than the typical people we hear from and connect with a greater audience overall. The purpose of the pop-up is to go to the public in their everyday environment to get their feedback and create awareness on the Ravine Strategy.

What are they consulting on?

We will be asking people their thoughts on the 5 draft principles and 21 draft actions that went to Parks & Environment Committee on June 16, 2016. The input we receive will be taken into consideration as we develop a Final Ravine Strategy to go to Parks & Environment Committee in April 2017.

How else can people provide input?

For those who cannot attend the pop-up event, but would like to provide input, you can send your comments to To help provide food for thought, we have been asking the following 5 questions (which can also be found on the webpage):

1. How can we better protect ravines?

2. What type of investments could improve ravines?

3. How can we better connect people with ravines?

4. What partnership opportunities should we explore?

5. How should we celebrate ravines?
