Have Your Say – Toronto Police Services

The Transformational Task Force was created by Chief of Police Mark Saunders and the Chair of the Police Services Board Andrew Pringle to modernize policing in our City. The Task Force’s final report was released on January 1 2017.  You can find the full report online here, a summary here, and a full list of TPS reports on all data here.

The Toronto Police Service (TPS) is holding community meetings this summer and fall – click here to see the poster for that.

You can visit the TPS’s Way Forward website to learn more about this project.

As a first step in the phased realignment, the Interim Report recommends the amalgamation of 54 and 55 Divisions.  When similar changes were proposed previously, many local residents expressed concerns that this would decrease police service to our community. So, I have written, along with Councillor Fletcher, a letter to Police Chief Mark Saunders requesting that such a meeting be held in the service area of 54 and 55 Division, as currently no meetings are planned to be held in that area.

The Transformational Task Force has agreed to this request and will schedule a meeting in September or October, please check back here for details.
