This April, students from Jackman School, a TDSB Platinum Eco School, wrote Councillors Mary Fragedakis and Paula Fletcher asking that the City of Toronto recycle plastic clam shell containers. In turn, the Councillors wrote the Public Works & Infrastructure Committee.
This September, the students and their teacher, Paul Cressman, made a presentation to the Public Works & Infrastructure Committee which then voted to approve staff recommendations to begin recycling these containers later this year.
Councillor Fragedakis wants to thank these students for providing the leadership and initiative to make something happen that will help protect our environment.
